Evaluation Part 5- How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Camera.Angle.Shot Movement and Position:
In this shot we have our main character we see him in a deserted isolated location which matches our title and this is the first shot you see in our opening sequence we did a mid shot for this shot because you can see the body language of our character you also see the bottle in his hands which will make the audience think why he is drinking, we also did a mid shot to allow the audience see the location of the forest and make them think as to why he is in a forest.
Editing:
When editing we did a continuity flow this allowed our audience to understand what is going on and it also allowed them to get and know the main character, in our work we did a non linear order we did this because we wanted to gain the audiences attention the minute the first shot came on screen and i think that it worked well and we also decided to use a lot of fade to black in our work this was to show a different time period is taking place specific scenes in our case we did this to represent flash backs we did this because we wanted to show our audience them specific moments in his life that drove him to where he is now and to see what he will do.

Sound:
In our opening sequence we decided to do a voice over we did this because it allowed our audience to understand what was going on without revealing to much, we didn't want to use a piece of music because we thought that to make our work different from others we thought a voice over would work best and in our feedback  our audience thought that it was well executed and we agreed, what had inspired us to do a voice over was the film Trainspotting  because in their opening sequence you hear the voice over being played and it immediately caught our attention so that had inspired us to do one as well also we thought that it worked better than music because the voice over was a mystery and also it allowed the audience to interact with them as though it was like the main character was talking to them.

 Voice Over:

Mise-en-scene
In the shot you can see our main character wearing a burgundy tracksuit,we chose this because it is something nearly everyone wears and almost everyone may own one so it would relate to our target audience and we also chose this because in my meet my audience I said that we would chose clothing that would relate and suit our target audience, this was to add to the realism.

In my location reccie we decide to film in the forest because we chose this because its and isolated place which will denote the title of the film which is called 'Isolated' and this will match with our lost boy as he has been isolated out of society and his own family. We also chose this location because we get to see the rough edges of the location we see how it is different from other parts of London.

Expressionism:
In this shot you can see that the lighting is artificial, this shot was filmed indoors and you can see the light is bright with a little bit of dullness, we didn't add a colour pallet in this shot because the natural artificial added to our realism also the shot type helped with that so we decide that it wasn't needed also the lighting suited the mood of our main character crying.

In this shot as you can see it was filmed in a natural lighting and the lighting is dull and natural, which suited our characters mood again and it reflected how he is feeling and what he might do and as you can see we didn't use a colour pallet as the natural lighting was already dull and gloomy.

Typography:

This was our typography we used we thought that it suited the title as its individual space emphasised and shows the letter in there own space which represents our character and suits him as he himself is isolated just like our title we decided to do it on a black background because we thought it suited it better rather than putting it over the scenes and also the title stood out because it had its own black background so it deserved to stand out.

Iconography:

We followed the stereotype of Asians being pressured a lot in school to achieve the best they type of belief that we have is emergent, residual, dominant in this case these are things that are reinforced by the media in our opening sequence the idea that Asian students have to become the best but not everyone believes that its just once the media enforces it, it must be true to a certain extent.
